A New Generator Control Device Level Disturbance Source Location Method of Power Oscillation Based on PMU

Large-scale interconnection of the power grid not only increases the economic and reliability of power generation and transmission, but also increases the possibility of low frequency oscillations in the system. Therefore, it has a great significance for accurate localization and identification of the oscillation source which can improve system stability. With the help of phasor measurement unit's (PMU) high-precision acquisition capability of grid data, the location of generator control device level power oscillation disturbance source is discussed in this paper. Based on the physical meaning of the phasor diagram of synchronous generator, a new method for calculating the oscillation energy of excitation system and governor system is proposed. Take a forced power oscillation accident caused by excessive primary frequency modulation for example, the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method are verified.
