A Dynamically Frequency-Tunable Perfect Microwave Absorber Using Graphene

In this paper, a graphene-based really dynamically frequency-tunable absorber is proposed for the first time, the center frequency of which can be tuned in X band while maintaining a large absorption coefficient close to unity. The proposed absorber consists of a layer of patterned graphene sandwich(GSS) and a layer of substrate backed with ground and printed with periodical patches printed on the top. We fabricate and measure some samples to experimentally verify the dynamical tunability of absorber. A good agreement between simulation and measurement is obtained.
