Enhancing the Shape Recovery Ability of Cerenkov Luminescence Tomography by Using Local Correlation

Cerenkov luminescence tomography (CLT) is a novel optical imaging modality for in vivo study of small animals, which can obtain the three-dimensional distribution of radiopharmaceuticals. However, the application of CLT is limited by the inaccurate reconstruction results, because the inverse problem of CLT is severely ill-posed. Especially, the shape information of source is commonly lost in the CLT reconstruction results. In this study, therefore, we proposed a novel CLT reconstruction method by using the local correlation of the source. The reconstruction results in numerical simulation showed that the proposed method had better shape reconstruction ability compared with the comparative method.
