Seven Levels Multilevel Inverter with asymmetrical DC sources

This article describes the operation principle for a 7 levels multilevel inverter using the Phase-Shifted Carrier Pulse Width Modulation (PSC-PWM) technique to be implement to reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD). The topology includes 4 IGBTs switching devices, 4 complementary, and 2 asymmetrical voltage sources. The control will be carried out by means of digital devices and the performance of multilevel inverter is confirmed through simulation and experimental results, under phase-disposition, (PD), phase opposition displacement (POD), and alternative phase opposition displacement (APOD) schemes.
