Preparation of Ammonium Phosphate Dry Chemicals Inhibiting Reignition of Oil Pool Fires

Ahstract-A synthesized fluorinated acrylate copolymer containing silanol groups was used to encapsulate ammonium polyphosphate together with tetratethoxysilane by sol-gel method to prepare the modified ammonium phosphate that inhibits reignition of oil pool fires. The anti-reignition dry powder particle was grafted with fluorocarbon long-chain and obtained low surface tension, which contributes to good properties of hydrophobicity and oleophobicity. The fluorinated acrylate copolymer containing silanol groups was synthesized from FA, MMA, and KH570 where FA introduced fluorocarbon long-chain and KH570 provided a silanol group for bonding with other molecules. When the monomer molar ratio of FA, MMA and KH570 was 5:4:1, water/kerosene contact angle of ammonium polyphosphate after modification were 132.185° /100.307° and water/kerosene activation index of ammonium polyphosphate after modification were 97.78%/97.59%.
