Study on the Separation of Headrest in Whiplash Test Based on Trajectory Tracking Technology

In order to explore the cause of the headrest separation phenomenon in C-NCAP whiplash test, based on the test data of several types of seats, the cause of this phenomenon was preliminarily proposed, and the test data were analyzed and studied in depth using video track tracking technology. The conclusion shows that: the gap between the head and the head restrain is too small, and the head of the dummy will have a collision and contact with the head restrain too fast, but the contact moment occurs before the moment when the seat back starts to swing sharply backward, and the head restrain follows the backrest of the seat to swing sharply backward, causing the head restrain to move away from the head of the dummy, leading to the appearance of the headrest separation.
