Blind Co-Channel Source Separation for Pulse-On-Pulse Interference

Applications of blind source separation (BSS) of co-channel signals in radar and reconnaissance are often considered under an implicit narrowband model. In this paper, we present the wideband model of pulse-on-pulse interference, along with the narrowband approximation. We discuss the errors inherent in using the narrowband model when applied to wideband signals, such as radar waveforms. We then examine the performance of BSS techniques for separating pulse-on-pulse interference under wideband conditions through the use of a high fidelity RF free space propagation simulator.
