Antenna Array Calibration with Model Mismatch

Antenna array calibration techniques commonly assume that the parametric model of the array manifold matches the true manifold for the correct set of calibration parameters. This assumption does not hold for most frequently used models. This paper studies the impact of this mismatch on the quality of the calibration which can be achieved. The overall accuracy of the calibrated array generally depends on the number and distribution of the calibration signals even when the manifold is perfectly known at the calibrating signal directions.
