A Method for Intelligent Synthesis of Bandpass Filters and Its Electrodynamic Basis

The summarized paper describes main principles underlying a method for intelligent synthesis of waveguide-dielectric based bandpass filters by means of evolutionary strategies. The basic idea of the method consists in physical analysis of signals passing through the filter. The analysis is performed on the basis of a known solution for electrodynamic problem of scattering of fundamental electromagnetic waves in a multi-tier structure. The electrodynamic basis of the knowledge base used to manage the evolutionary synthesis and optimization of filter design is widely considered in detail for a first time.
