Analysis of Wideband Multiple Rectangular Slots Loaded Rectangular Microstrip Antenna

Thorough analysis and explanation for the broadband multiple slots loaded rectangular microstrip antenna with respect to the patch resonant modes responsible for the wider bandwidth is provided in the current work. The modal identification of the antenna is done by initially simulating a rectangular microstrip antenna and observing the surface current distributions at the frequencies obtained in the resonance frequency plot. Gradual incorporation of multiple open slots and their parametric study with respect the length revealed that the broad bandwidth observed is due to TM

modes of the antenna. Broadside radiation pattern is observed with simulated gain above 8dBi and simulated bandwidth of 720 MHz.
