Influence of cushion chamber on ejection performance of high-pressure pneumatics system

Based on the theoretical analyses, considering engineering realization, we demonstrated the feasibility of a high-pressure pneumatics ejection system with cushion chamber. Interior ballistics model is established using aerodynamics theory and segmentation modeling method, simultaneous equations include mathematic model of high-pressure tank, cushion chamber, transmitting tube, and ejection object. Contribution of tank pressure, tank volume, latus rectum of air valve etc. of high-pressure pneumatics ejection system on leaving velocity and max-overload are calculated and analyzed, respectively. By comparing, the contribution of latus rectum of air valve is maximal, tank pressure is secondary, and tank volume is minimum. To meet the need of interior ballistics of ejection object, all of them cooperate with the latus rectum of throttle orifice. By delaying the process of air discharge, cushion chamber can not only reduce instantaneous impact forces on ejection object, but also make the accelerator of ejection object smother. The buffer mechanism of cushion chamber for high-pressure pneumatics ejection system is verified, of which can increase leaving velocity and reduce max-overload. The research production is very useful for the optimum design and development of high-pressure pneumatics ejection system.
