Numerical Simulation of Flow Field in the valve port of High Frequency Excitation Rotary Valve based on CFD

In order to investigate the influence of inlet pressures and valve opening on transient flow field in the valve port of the high frequency excitation rotary valve, a sliding mesh technique is used to simulate the transient flow field of the high frequency excitation rotary valve port, and pressure contours, streamline diagrams and vector illustrations are obtained under different inlet pressures and valve opening. The results show that the high-pressure area is located at the sleeve windows, and the low-pressure area is located at the spool groove; the center pressure of low-pressure area decreases with the increase of the inlet pressure; influenced by valve opening and groove chamfer, the low-pressure area on the left side of the spool groove migrates to the throttle with decrease in opening; there are two vortices existed on the left and right sides of the spool groove, and the area of the vortex decreases with increase in opening; as the opening of the valve port increases, the maximum flow velocity of the valve port increases rapidly to the peak and then decreases; In addition, the backflow of the fluid is responsible for the occurrence of cavitation. The research results have a guiding role in the optimization of the rotary valve in noise reduction and cavitation suppression.
