10Gbps MMW backhaul network based on FBMC-PON-WDM

Millimeter Wave Filter Bank Multicarrier (MMW-FBMC) is proposed to achieved high spectral efficiency through a fiber-wireless(FiWi) communication scheme for 5G broadband wireless services. The proposed system implements a 60GHz MMW-FBMC design to transmit 10Gbp over passive optical network with wavelength division multiplexing (PON-WDM). 10 Gbps of data rate is modulated by 4-QAM and mapped using FBMC techniques. To simulate the system and investigate its performance, MATLAB and OPTISYSTEM platform are used. Error vector magnitude (EVM) and bit error ratio (BER) are measured with multiple lengths of fiber. The results show that the integration MMW-FBMC-PON-WDM are promising technology scheme in 5G networks.
