Preserving Privacy of Paging Procedure in 5thG Using Identity-Division Multiplexing

Although the efforts have been made by Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) toward enhancing privacy preserving competences, but it does not remove the probability of user privacy attacks and it is still susceptible to user privacy attacks by following the paging identifiers and correlating with permanent identity. Generation and previous generations by proposing solution based on Identity-Division Multiplexing (IDM) with frequently varying unrelated Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identifiers (TMSI) used for user identification in paging producer, which enhancements the user privacy and defends the attacks of hacker. The scheme is formally verified using proVerif and proved to provide an adequate assurance of user privacy protection.
