Experimental Validation of a Transformer-less Inverter with Improved Gain for Grid-PV Interface

A modified Ćuk derived inverter suitable for a single - phase transformer-less Photovoltaic grid interface is presented in this paper. Voltage gain of the inverter is improved by using switched inductor cell concept at the input side of the inverter. A laboratory prototype of the inverter topology for 150W power level is constructed and tested in open loop and closed loop in stand-alone mode of operation. Increase in voltage gain and dynamic response for change in reference current are validated through experimentation and results are presented in this paper.
