Intelligent Transport System based Fall-Back Mechanism - An alternative for safety approach in VANET

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is the utmost growing research area in wireless communication. Advancing the research in VANET will bring crucial upgradation in wireless technology. Some of the major challenges include network reliability, security and safety. This paper pays attention on current technologies related to Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and sensor based VANET used in exchange of data in vehicular environment. In addition a proposed mechanism is derived as an alternative approach for providing safety and an uninterruptable vehicular traffic flow which act independently not relying on network connectivity with Road Side Units (RSU), which compliance of hardware in On Board Unit (OBU).
