Optimum Sharing of Solar Power and Grid for an Academic Institute using HOMER

In this paper developed the small micro grid model of an educational institute. The institute is located at 22°28.2'N latitude and 73°4.1'E longitude correspondingly. This proposed microgrid model consists of photovoltaic system (PV) and diesel generator which is associated to grid system. The model is examined using HOMER software. Based on the institute load profile, the HOMER simulates the proposed micro grid model. Homer calculate the different sensitivity cases and optimization result. Result gives different combinations for proposed microgrid system and calculate operating cost, production cost, net present cost and cost of energy. The simulation outcome specifies that the employment of microgrid would be a suitable and cost effective key to supply the Electricity to the load applied.
