Controller holds additional degree of freedom which provides better time and frequency response compared to classical PID Controller. Fractional Order PID Controller parameters have been optimized using a Soft Computing Technique i.e. Bacterial Foraging Optimization Technique (BFO). A non linear function has been minimized to get the optimal parameters of Fractional Order PID Controller. The non linear function is proposed with integral square error, settling-time, rise time and maximum overshoot. In presence of variation in load, reference voltage, input voltages and to obtain fast recovery in output voltage response a control scheme is derived, through MATLAB simulation.
