Utilization of Information Technologies in Higher Education

The aim of this paper is to determine the importance of information-communication technology (ICT) in higher education sector and to debate about advantages and disadvantages of using them, taking into consideration factors that influence the adoption of ICT in higher education institutions (HEIs). This paper employs a theoretical framework which is based on literature about ICT in the education sector and an empirical framework which reflects the environment of the utilization of ICT in the Ukrainian educational sector. Under the influence of modern ICT, the content, form and approaches to the provision of educational services in the higher education field are significantly changing. Therefore, it is vital to be aware of the importance of ICTs as well as challenges that may occur when they are adopted in HEIs.
