Photoluminescence of SnO2 nanoparticle ensemble in porous glass with column structure

The features of luminescent properties of tin dioxide in the form of an ensemble of nanoparticles within the matrix of porous silicate glass with column structure are studied. The ensemble was formed by impregnating the glass with an alcoholic solution of SnCl₄ followed by annealing. The type of glass and concentration of the impregnating solution, which corresponds to the best luminescent response, is established. The results of the work may be applied for the production of fluorescent gas sensors based on SnO₂.
