Electronically controlled limited slip differential for two-wheel drive for a vehicle network with AUTOSAR

In vehicle differential is responsible for distribution of torque to the wheels. The proper distribution of torque between wheels is necessary during different scenarios like cornering on different surfaces such as ice, mud etc. Thus, precise distribution of torque is necessary and can be done by electronically (ECU) controlled limited slip differential to do this a control algorithm is developed to distribute accurate torque between rear wheels. Same is integrated with the AUTOSAR stack and tested on the simulated vehicle network. The torque distribution by mechanical limited slip differential is not accurate, so for better control clutch pack limited slip differential was been used. But to have more precise, accurate and fast control an electronic control unit is used. To provide good traction performance with different road surfaces and to maintain overall stability of a vehicle. A vehicle simulation model was set up on CarSIM software and algorithm is implemented in Matlab. The simulation results are compared between the vehicle operations with different differential on ice road surfaces, improving the vehicle stability and traction.
