A Self-Consumption Control by an EcoCute in ECHONET Lite Network

An EcoCute has been installed as a self-consumption equipment for a zero-energy house in Japan. The EcoCute works to store hot water as energy when a photovoltaics system generates too much power to consume all in a house. As their energy storages are too small to contribute for reducing a peak of supply in grid, we have constructed a system that is able to store more energy and more cost effective. Our system communicates in ECHONET Lite protocol with an energy measurement system and a cloud server, and make a schedule to consume the most of surplus power with a weather forecast and accumulated power data. We discuss about a self-consumption system by an EcoCute and the result of experiment in this paper.
