A novel modular multilevel transformerless step-down DC/DC converter

For the past few years, DC technology has been paid more and more attention in power system. However, high-voltage DC/DC converter has still not been applied in practical projects. This paper proposes a novel modular multilevel transformerless step-down DC/DC converter. A modified full-bridge sub-module (SM) is applied to reduce the quantity of the switch devices. Simulation results are acquired from MATLAB/Simulink to verify the feasibility of the proposed topology.
