A developed method to locate a mobile phone in remote areas

Positioning techniques of the mobile phone are one of the most important current and future trends because of its importance to human lives and its effective role in the management of their affairs. So we may disagree with the opinion of the researchers about using the GPS system for remote areas. This is not arbitrary because we take this information from the security perspective and according to our country's security conditions, as well as threats that obstruct the security work such as cases of extortion, terrorist operations. We should be aware that are very cautious and clever reservation by criminals to use technology; for example, criminals do not use smartphones, they use old type phones which do not have GPS or they use smartphones with disabling GPS feature. And this is contrary to the opinion of the above mentioned view of remote areas. The aim of this paper is to provide a method to locate a mobile phone in remote areas (desert, countryside) with precision and good speed with the lowest possible cost. For this, we propose the study of the received signal strength (RSS) to produce the fingerprint to form the database. This could do by using K-MEAN algorithm for building clusters and study the characteristics of the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network to exploit it with the best method. The proposed system proves that when increasing the number of clusters will provide better accuracy. Where we achieved the accuracy of 8 clusters 93.75% This paper addresses the literature survey, Cellular network structure, the proposed novel approach, the proposed system algorithm.
