Multiple Biological Network Alignment through Network Generation and Feature Weight Annotations

Alignment of biological networks is the process of finding the similarity across given biological networks so as to understand the hidden information in the biological systems. In a given biological network, finding the relationships between each individual participating components gives in-depth information about the system and its functionalities. In this paper, we propose a network alignment method that generates and aligns all the participating components of a given biological network to find the similarity across them. We have considered structure-based information of the individual components (like proteins) of the biological network to gain more insights on their functionality. We demonstrate the applicability of the proposed alignment method to study the internal component networks of human platelet activation pathway biological network by utilizing the Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) data and also conduct various experiments to evaluate it.
