Design and Comparison of Rectangular and Circular Horn Antenna Feeders for 2.4 GHz Band

In wireless communication field antennas play a very important role. Wireless communication works on the principle of transmission and reception of radio waves on specific frequencies. Horn antennas are used as feeding antennas to parabolic reflector antenna. Horn antennas are used because of their overall advantages. The feeder antenna must have good matched impedance with the transmission line and the designed horn antennas provide the same. The design of rectangular and circular monopole horn antennas is done using CST software. 2.4 GHz frequency band is used because of its wide coverage area and penetration through walls, providing better connectivity.
