Simulation and Analysis of Dynamic Voltage Restorer

In continuous process industries, it is essential to maintain the voltage at a specific level to ensure the smooth operation. In this paper Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) method is analysed for maintaining the voltage profile. A 220V, 50Hz line is compensated with a DVR. Behavior of uncompensated line is simulated for analysis purpose and presented. Further the performance of the line is improved by compensating it with a DVR. Compensated line results are presented and compared with the results of uncompensated line. For obtaining simulation results, MATLAB Simulink v9.1 has been used. The result reveals that by using the DVR the voltage across the load is maintained at nominal value irrespective of faults and other abnormal conditions.
