Design and Implementation of Dual Band Microstrip Yagi-Uda Array

In this paper an antenna structure that comprises a concept of Yagi-Uda array and Microstrip Patch Antenna is presented. A design of Yagi- Uda antenna of 4 element Omni directional is done in C-band and x band configurations using HFSS simulator at a central frequency of 5.8 GHz and 10.8 GHz respectively. To determine the effects that causes by elements to the antenna performance that will gives a larger gain this analysis has done. The gain can be increased by using a concept of Yagi-Uda antenna with application of array. The simulation result indicates the return loss is good in the operating bandwidth at frequency ranges of 4-8 GHz and 8-12 GHz coverage standard of C-band and X- band. The antenna is designed using the substrate called as FR-4 with 4.7 dielectric constant and 1.6 mm thickness and comparison and analysis of the results are studied.
