Fingerprint Authentication by Image Processing using Hartley Discrete Wavelet Transform

The Hartley transform is based on the small extraction method which is proposed for the usage of fingerprint analysis and matching of the finger prints. HT is applied on a very smaller region which is much closed to the core of the finger prints. We use Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based method for the extraction and analysis of the finger prints The experimental results show that, the proposed method reduces the false acceptance rate (FAR) from 21.48% to 16.74 %. This can be enhanced by using a lot of algorithms and some other wavelet transforms.
