Bali Energy Planning: Optimization of Energy Resources for Electrical Generation 2019-2028

Bali is part of a subsystem on the Java-Bali interconnection system. The peak load in the Bali subsystem is 900 MW on February 26^th, 2019, at 19.30 WIB. Electric power in the Bali subsystem is supplied from power plants in Bali and transferred through 150 kV submarine cables from power plants in the East Java.In the period 2019-2028, Bali's subsystem peak load continued to increase from 932 MW to 1625 MW. The demand for electric power in Bali is increasing meanwhile the power transfer capacity through submarine cables and power generation capacity in the Bali subsystem is limited. On the other hand, 39 % electricity generation in Bali using fuel oil which have limited operations by government policies. With these conditions, it is predicted that in 2021-2023 the Bali subsystem will be deficit.In this paper will present the composition of energy, the type of technology and the cost of electricity production by considering objective functions and constraints until 2028 to overcome the deficit in the Bali subsystem
