Bionic optimization for Roller Crusher

In the current material processing industry, roller crusher is widely used in mining, construction materials and other industrial sectors because of its simple structure, wide application range with safe and reliable performance. It is mainly used for medium or fine crushing of ore. With the rudimentary knowledge of roller crusher and bionics principle, the crushing theory of roller crusher, the kinematics of the material and the grinding force are analyzed in this paper. Based on bionics principle, we carry out bionic design and three-dimensional modeling of the crushing roller structure. Applying the discrete element analysis method, the crushing mechanism of the roller crusher is analyzed and optimized using particle behavior analyzing and simulating software EDEM. By analyzing the property of the material in the crushing process, a particle model simulating the broken material is created, and through orthogonal experimental design, four important factors affecting the production efficiency are tested independently from any other; roller surface shape, roller skin material, gap between rollers, roller speed. Then, a parameter set to maximize the efficiency is obtained. On this basis, the structure of the roller crusher is optimized. Finally, the optimization results are verified by comparing and analyzing the different indicators before and after the structural change.
