New Type Capacitor-Switch Assembly for LTD Technology

The most critical element responsible for the output parameters of an LTD generator is its primary store-a capacitor-switch assembly or so-called brick. The electrical parameters of a capacitor-switch assembly (CSA), its dimensions, and number of CSAs determine the parameters of an LTD cavity and LTD generator as a whole. Here we present a new CSA type (CSA 160-0.1), describe its design features and output parameters, provide data on its high-voltage tests for operation with a matched load and on intermediate life tests, and assess its prospects for use in LTD technologies.
