Analysis of MMC HVDC System Using Symmetric Coordinate Method

This paper deals with the new analysis method of MMC HVDC system, which is based on the classical symmetric coordinate method. As the AC/DC system which is AC system combined with MMC HVDC converter, has the different characteristics from a conventional AC system, in order to analyze the faults of the system, the new analysis technique is needed. In this paper, the modified symmetric coordinate method is proposed for analyzing MMC HVDC system. Through the mathematical model and simulations, the validation of the proposed method is confirmed.
