Quantitative analysis on spatial distribution of vascular sizes in lung using three-dimensional greyscale morphology

Spatial distributions of sizes of pulmonary vessels were quantitatively analyzed to construct a standard map of local probability density in terms of their vascular sizes. The 3D grayscale opening operations of mathematical morphology with multi-size kernels were applied for vascular size determination.
