Research on the Flow Field Characteristics of a Wheat Flour Purifier Based on the Standard Turbulent Model

The wheat flour purifier is one of the most important equipment in the process of making wheat flour. In this paper, the flow field characteristics of a wheat flour purifier were analyzed with four different air duct structures under two levels of air amount. The effects of the duct size on the velocity and pressure of the air in a wheat flour purifier were discussed. The analysis was conducted with the method of computational fluid dynamics based on the standard turbulent model. Results showed that the duct size had significant effects on the homogeneity of the wind in the wheat flour purifier. Two open ends and a proper combination of the duct size would make the wind more homogeneous.
