MPPT tracking control based on variable step perturbation and observation method

Due to the Low PV array conversion rate, and the the generating power of photovoltaic modules is easily affected by changes in the external environment, to solve this problem, the MPPT technology needs to be adopted in photovoltaic system. Perturbation observation method is a common method, but has problems of oscillation and misjudgment. To solve these problems, an improved perturbation observation method has been presented in this paper for the speed and the accuracy. By Matlab simulation model for photovoltaic cells, the method was compared with the disturbance observer and was proved as having higher stability, which improves its maximum power tracking accuracy and speed.
