Switching anti-windup design for saturated linear systems

This paper investigates a switching anti-windup compensation strategy for linear saturated systems to offset the control performance degradation caused by the saturation of the actuator. According to the saturation level of actuator, a switching logic is designed to orchestrate the switching between anti-windup compensators. For each control input component, if the control input component causes the actuator to be slightly saturated, then the switching anti-windup compensation strategy is designed to activate an anticipatory compensator. If the control input causes the actuator to reach deep saturation, then a delayed activated compensator is considered. The numerical simulations based on piezoelectric nano system demonstrate that the proposed switching anti-windup compensation strategy can further improve the compensation performance of the compensator compared with the immediate, anticipatory and delayed anti-windup schemes.
