Photo Aligned Quantum Rod Films by inkjet Printing for modern LCDs with Extended Color Gamut

Photoaligned quantum rod films have been printed using an inkjet printer. High-quality alignment of the QRs provides a high polarization ratio for the PL. Furthermore, we developed a QREF containing red and green QRs, in the same films, for their application in LCD backlights. Thus fabricated QREFs offer wider color gamut and high optical efficiency of 7.8%, which is almost double in comparison to the conventional LCDs.
