A Survey on Nadi Pariksha and Pulse Acquisition System

Ayurveda is an efficient method of diagnosing the ailment. `Nadi Pariksha' or Pulse diagnosis is one among the eight methods available in Ayurveda. It has provided a better way of diagnosing the imbalances in `Doshas' which indicates the incidence of disease. An Awareness and analysis of the different patterns of Ayurveda is an imperative area of research. An Ayurveda practitioner can easily detect the imbalances in the body in initial stages without using any devices except the fingers. The traditional texts Yoga Ratnakara, Sarangadhara Samitha, Bhavaprakasha, and Basavarajeeyam, have debated the particulars of Nadi Pariksha as written in Stotras. This survey paper is separated into two parts; first part emphasizes the importance of `tridosha,' i.e., Vata, Pitta, Kapha dosha and the second part describes various pulse diagnosing techniques using different types of sensors and health monitoring (Digital Solution) system design.
