A Survey on Intrusion Detection Tools

With the growth of Internet and its popularity, there are a large number of changes that are being made in the world. Internet has proved to be a great boon to humans. On the flipside, there are also some inevitable disadvantages or loopholes that it creates. The Internet being easily accessible nowadays gives rise to issues like intrusion, data leaks, etc. A lot of survey papers on intrusion detection techniques have been published but survey on intrusion detection tools is still untouched. This paper focuses on some of the tools used for Intrusion Detection, and Intrusion Prevention. This paper also compiles the major characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of some of the well known Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPSs) tools.
