Crypto-System: A Modified Ceaser Cipher

An essence of cryptography is to ensure safe and secure information transfer and receive. Its widespread use in client server communication with various modalities and effectiveness has overcome the adversities in terms of masquerading, phishing, threats and viruses. While implementing messaging system across the platform for chat, message passing and sharing. The proposed system has been successfully designed to address good use of messaging system between client and a server that has shed a good amount of overhead in terms of calculation, time and effectiveness in the algorithm due to its easy to make and inexpensive comparatively to other existing utilities. The system works with the combination of different algorithms like the key generation algorithm based on Diffie-Hellman key and modified Ceaser cipher algorithm for encryption and decryption. The encryption of messages that need to be transferred uses ASCII values of each character and modulate it to generate cipher text which is further converted back to the original character. Plaintext is the data that need to be protected during transmission, thus this paper presents results of the crypto-messenger as a tool to showcase practical implementations of information security using Cryptography.
