Offline Real-Time Portable GPS Tracking

People often find themselves stuck in remote places with no way of knowing their exact location. Since, remote places have no cell-phone carrier connection; they are often helpless as they cannot access their location. Thus, the purpose of the proposed system is to construct a novel wireless Global Positioning System (GPS) device that can access and display parameters like time, longitude, latitude, and altitude in real-time without the need of an active internet connection. The proposed project consists of two modules. The first module is the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Bluetooth communication device with a microcontroller to transmit its current location to the display device. The second module is the display device, which can either be a mobile phone or any other display device like LCD display to receive the GPS coordinates via Bluetooth and display the result. The system is intended to be a general-purpose locator without requiring internet connection and subscriber identity module (SIM).
