Software Framework for Wireless Sensor Network Virtualization

Virtualization of a wireless sensor network will become significant due to ever-increasing devices in the network. The paper introduces a new software Framework for WSN virtualization. This new Framework presents few conventions that help application developers to create applications without requiring it to understand underlying hardware and hardware developers can provide plug-and-play modules to the virtualization layer. This virtualization approach presents a multi-language software architecture that allows code reuse. From a research perspective, we discuss Location-based conventions to represent the virtual device. Since future network specification aims at connecting millions of such devices in a network which might require various types devices with different operating systems working with various new programming languages and time-varying network parameters, the middleware Architecture provides the abstraction for such needs.
