An Improved Collision Detection Algorithm for Hair Simulation Study

For efficiency problem of virtual human hair modeling and simulation process in virtual technology, an improved collision detection algorithm for hair simulation study is proposed. The triangle fast interpolation method is used for hair interpolation and Aixe Align Bounding Boxes(AABB) spheres are used to deal with the collision of hair. Finally, hair interaction is handled with hybrid Eulerian/Lagrangian approach. Collision detection only detect the collision state between the controlled hair and the head model. The interpolation hair is interpolated on the basis of the state of the controlled hair after the collision treatment, so that no detection is performed. The simulation experiment indicates that triangle interpolation algorithm can work effectively and the efficiency of hair simulation is significantly improved after the improved collision detection algorithm.
