An Improved intimacy-based Epidemic algorithm in mobile social networks

Epidemic algorithm is a traditional multi-copy data distribution method. Although it has high transmission efficiency in some scenarios, the unrestricted flooding of the algorithm leads to transmission delay and efficiency degradation caused by congestion in mobile social networks, making it less adaptable to data distribution in mobile social networks. Aiming at the transmission environment of mobile social network, this paper proposes an Epidemic algorithm based on intimacy. This algorithm integrates the intimacy attributes between communities, builds the intimacy mechanism between nodes, provides enough trusted nodes as the next hop forwarding node in data distribution, limits the flooding scale of Epidemic algorithm, and reduces some data overload. The improved Epidemic algorithm effectively reduces network congestion and is more adaptive to the data distribution mechanism of the mobile social network.
