LACP Experiment using Multiple Flow Table in Ryu SDN Controller

Software-defined networks (SDN) as one of the recent trends in networking technology face real challenges about compatibility with current network technology. One protocol that needs attention is the Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). LACP is very popular for use in large scales computer networks, such as Internet Service Provider (ISP) or telecommunications operators. The original LACP application in Ryu SDN controller still uses a single-flow-table (SFT). This paper will discuss the LACP implementation when Multiple Flow Table (MFT) used. The objective is to make the flow-table more effective in terms of the number of flow entries. Experiment carried out by simulation using Mininet and Ryu SDN controller. The result shows that using MFT could reduce the number of flow-entries. In scenario using 25 total hosts produces 57 flow-entries using MFT, compared to 603 when using SFT.
