Analysis of the impact of an auxiliary winding of a permanent magnet synchronous machine on the generation of shaft voltages

The article presents the concept of elimination of shaft voltages and shaft currents in permanent magnet synchronous machines. This method is based on the use of an additional winding to compensate for the time-varying circular magnetic flux present in the electromagnetic yoke. Based on laboratory measurements carried out on a prototype machine, the effect of an additional winding wound in the stator yoke on the values of shaft voltages and currents was examined.
