Analysis of Interleaved Coupled Inductor Ultra-Boost Converter for Solar PV Applications

Two level interleaved ultra-boost converter (IUBC) with the coupled-inductors with high power and voltage application of solar PV power generation system is introduced in the paper. Two windings coupled-inductors are used for boosting the low input voltage. Performance analysis and modeling of interleaved ultra-boost converter is done by MATLAB/simulation. In this proposed paper converter is modeled and analysed by using analog PI controller and simulated in closed loop. As compared to the conventional boost converters ripple of input current is constrained and stress of current is also reduced. It is mainly designed for low input voltage $(\mathbf{vi}_{\mathbf{n}})$ and high output voltage $(\mathbf{V}_{\mathbf{out}})$ application. Circuit model with input voltage $(\mathbf{V}_{\mathbf{in}})$ of 48V and output voltage $(\mathbf{V}_{\mathbf{out}})$ of 500V with 3KW power is operated and informative simulation and experiment results of IUBC is provided. Main advantage of interleaved ultra-boost converter is to double the efficient ripple frequency and rippled voltage is reduced easily. It increases efficiency, reduces size and improved reliability of the power generation solar PV system.
