Robust optimization for energy scheduling of CCHP systems under electrical load tracking and thermal load tracking

The scheduling of distributed energy resources (DER) output power is a key technique that affects both the economic and environmental benefits and reliability of the combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) system operation. However, the intermittency of renewable energy and demand uncertainty has brought great challenges to the system scheduling. To meet these challenges, this paper presents a robust optimization scheduling method of electrical load tracking (ELT) mode and thermal load tracking (TLT) mode for different realizations of the uncertainty based on the minimax criterion. Meanwhile the budget of uncertainty is introduced to decrease the blindness and conservatism of robust optimization scheduling. A column and constraint generation (C&CG) algorithm is used to solve the bi-level programming model, and then the operational cost of ELT and TLT are comparative analyzed under different uncertainty measures. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the robust optimization-based energy scheduling approach.
