Optimization of Zone Partitioning for Active Distribution Network Black-Start Based on MILP

As for the distribution network containing high penetration of distributed generation (DG), partitioning the system into several subsystems and initiating the parallel self-healing independently would speed up the recovery process after a large blackout. This paper proposes a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model for active distribution network black-start partitioning. The model aims at minimizing the customer outage costs and integrating the restoration actions within each subsystem into the partitioning problem. The well-developed commercial tool ILOG CPLEX is adopted to solve the MILP model. The effectiveness of the proposed model and method is verified by the modified IEEE 69-bus test system.
